AMU Malappuram Centre is an another campus of the Aligarh Muslim University which was established in 2010 in State of Kerala at Malappuram. All the departments are working with all facilities approved by various bodies of government like NCTE and BCI. UGC has also inspected in June 2017. The AMU Centre Malappuram began functioning in February 2011 inaugurated by Kapil Sibal, the then Union Minister for Human Resource Development, inaugurated the campus at Chelamala near Perinthalmanna with the commencement of MBA and B.A,LL.B (Hons)courses. Prof. ABDUR RASHEED K. M. is present director of the Centre. First senior hall Mr Janzeb Danish and first senior food is Mr Rameez Akhtar. For girls representative, Neha Royal was the first Senior Hall and senior food was Sania Mushahid

Aligarh Muslim University has established three centres at Malappuram, (Kerala) and Murshidabad, (West Bengal) and Kishanganj, (Bihar) while and a site has been identified for Aurangabad, (Maharashtra) centre. Malappuram Centre was established by A.M.U. in 2010 empowered by Section 5(2)(C) of the A.M.U. (Amendment) Act,1981 and under Section 12(2) of the University Act. [Act XL 1920 and A.M.U. (Amendment) Act,1972].The Centre is located in the educationally and socially backward, Muslim-majority Malappuram District of Kerala. The President of India in her capacity as the Visitor accorded sanction to establish two Centers of Aligarh Muslim University, one at Malappuram (Kerala) and the other at Murshidabad (West Bengal) (Ref: Lr. No.: F. 3-9/2008 Desk(U) dt. 27.04.10 from the Under Secretary MHRD, Govt. of India) in pursuance to the A.M.U. Courts resolution dt. 02.12.2007 (Other items, No. 4), Executive Council's approval on 17.01.2008 (item No. 20) and the Academic Council's approval on 12.01.2008 (item No.:24).
Departments
In 2013, Mr. E. Ahamed, Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India inaugurated B.Ed. programme at the Malappuram Centre of Aligarh Muslim University.Addressing the students, Mr. Ahamed expressed satisfaction on smooth functioning of the AMU Malappuram Centre. He said that it was the best among the three Centres of AMU. DR.HM Abdul Azeez has joined as new director of AMU Malappuram centre on 27 November 2014.
- 1. Department of Law:-
It runs five year integrated BA,LL.B (Hons) course based on semester system.The Department which is under Faculty of Law main campus Aligarh Muslim University.Dr. Javed Talib is the Dean, Faculty of Law. The Law course is approved by BCI. There is excellent placement record of the department. several students have joined High Courts of Kochi, Delhi, Allahabad and Patna while some are doing LL.M in prestigious institutions of the country.
- 2.Department of Business Management:-Two years M.B.A course affiliated to AMU. The placement record of this department is also very good and most of the students are doing jobs in multinational companies.
- 3.Education Department:-One year course of B.ed approved by NCTE. Several teachers are working after getting education from here.
